Coming soon: Hyper Japan hyper review!

hyperjapan_2013_logo_2
Just got home from three days at Hyper Japan. Had a an amazing time. I have a million and one pictures, as well as several videos. I’ll be going through them the next couple days and will hopefully be making several posts over the next week (or two?) talking about everything we experienced at the convention. All-in-all, though, it was perfect. We’re happy we got the 3 day pass, and couldn’t be happier with the experience (well, I suppose we’d been happier if we had suddenly woken up in Japan, but that’s understandable 😉 ).

I’ll post again soon!

Quiet Wednesdays

It’s a quiet day.

Unfortunately there isn’t much to write about today. My recent play time has been split between playing a bit of Skyrim (I’ve decided to try a mage character for the first time… I feel über powerful… right up until someone is resistant to the spell I’ve selected to attack with and decides to one-shot me, despite my stoneskin spell), trying to progress some more in Euro Truck Simulator 2 (I own a second garage now, I’m only €300k in debt, and as soon as I have €150k – maybe €200k to be safe – I’ll buy a new truck, hire a third driver – fourth if you count me – and fly through the remainder of my debt), and more SWTOR (found that the +41 stat crystals that I’d purchased on the GTM were in my collection, so I could pay some unlock them for cartel credits and then give them to all of my characters for free! WOO!). On my tablet, I’ve started playing Magic 2014 and I’m trying to get into Ingress (which is difficult since there’s practically nothing in the areas I frequent).

There isn’t much else to say, really. Nothing exciting’s really taken place at work. I’m still slowly reading through the Wheel of Time, working my way to the last three books (on book 6, The Lord of Chaos, at the moment). Getting really excited about HyperJapan and my vacation, which are in just over 20 days. That’s pretty much is.

Yay for quiet Wednesdays.

Weekend recap: Misfile, Star Trek Online, and The Stanley House

Weekend update time!

We had a fairly quiet weekend, as usual. We discussed going to see Man of Steel in cinemas, but were put off by the thought of opening weekend crowds, so we’ll likely go on the weekend. That’s fine, though – I’m not sure Liz has ever seen the original two Superman movies (well, the original Superman and the Richard Donner cut of the second movie), so we’ll watch those between now and the weekend just for kicks :).

Surprisingly enough, we haven’t yet finished watching the first season of Game of Thrones, despite having the second season sitting on our shelf waiting for us. We had plenty of time, but simply didn’t get around to it.

Misfile - In one little corner of the universe, there's nothing more irritation than a misfile...

We just had a fairly quiet Saturday, with Liz reading a book and my reading through a web comic – Misfile (I’d read it for a few years, stopped for some reason or other and forgot about it until I recently saw an ad for it. I’m now going back through the entire archive to catch up). Great web comic, btw… guy gets turned into a chick, a girl loses 2 years of her life, and a deadbeat angel is trying to be ‘good’ to get back into heaven to fix the errors. Go check it out! A prefect way to spend a lazy rainy Saturday.

It’s Finally Friday! Final Fantasy XV, and Morning Elegance

Woo! Friday! This has felt like such a long week. So happy it’s almost over.

Not much to post about today, except for two YouTube videos. These cemented the fact that I will *need* to get a next gen system (and with all of the continuing news and comparisons, it’ll likely be the PS4).

Yes, once again the main reason that I will buy a Sony system is…. Final Fantasy.

I’m sure that’s no surprise to anyone (and I know that Final Fantasy XV will be available on both the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One, but to be honest, before seeing the FFXV trailer and gameplay videos I actually wasn’t too hyped about getting one of the next gen systems, so while the decisions Microsoft and Sony made have convinced me to go with the PS4 over the new Xbox should I buy a new system, it was Final Fantasy that convinced me that I’d need to buy a new system at all).

YouTube Friday! Geekiness galore!

So, Liz and I have decided to start watching Game of Thrones. We’ll be starting this weekend, I think. I’m not too sure why we’ve decided to do it, but I’ve read the first book and much of the second (quite some time ago) and I’ve finally decided that I’d really like to give the show a shot. I wonder how much of the first season we can fit into the weekend…

Other than that, I’ve got nothing really to talk about. So, rather than try to putt some random subjects out of the air, I’ve decided to pad this post with YouTube videos I’ve watched in the last couple days. Enjoy!
